"Say, Sylwen...did you change your style or something? You seem different somehow...", mused Maelis, the purple-haired guardian of the small village on the northern borders of the empire, as the elf packed up her order of healing potions. The adressed chuckled politely, but didn't stop her work.
"Different how? I was out late last night, so perhaps I just look tired? Anyway, Maelis, do you remember that prototype potion we talked about a few weeks back? I think I really made a breakthrough, so would you test it for me?"
Maelis visibly relaxed, shrugging off her faint suspicions as she took the blue potion from Sylwen. If the woman knew that much about their previous conversations, then she couldn't possibly...no.
"Of course! Thank you for your hard work!"

Back in the storeroom, the real Sylwen could only listen to the conversation "she" was having with Maelis in horror as the guardian seemingly downed the who-knows-what potion in one big gulp. "Maelis", or rather the thing that was impersonating her, had the high elf at knifepoint and a hand clamped over her mouth...not that it would have been necessary, as the silencing spell the two mimics had attacked her with had been utterly effective. Along with the pointy deterrent at her throat, Sylwen had accepted her situation for now...

An hour ago, "Maelis" had arrived at her doorstep, naked and seemingly in distress. Wanting to help her friend in the heat of the moment, the elf had foolishly bid her enter, thus nullifying the protective charms she'd placed around the place for just such an occasion. Not kept at bay by that ancient magic any longer, the two "women" had advanced on Sylwen, easily overpowering her, forcing her to strip and dragging her into the potion shop's storeroom.

The elf had watched on in mute horror as the second being had "become" her, putting on her clothes and taunting her in her own voice, with things that only she knew. It was more than a good copy, it was...her.
"Woah, I'm feeling a bit...drowsy..." muttered Maelis, out of sight and yet so tantalizingly close.
"Oh, I was wondering about that part...not to worry, it'll pass. But perhaps you'd like to sit down?" offered "Sylwen", mimicking the real one's cheerfulness in a way that was beyond copy, beyond imitation.

"Thank you, I..."

A clattering as if from an empty bottle, then the creaking of the door opening wider and "Sylwen" in the frame, smiling at herself in triumph.

"Sorry about this, darling, but we've decided that we'd quite like to stay in your village for the time being...as yourselves, which you've doubtless figured out by now. So you will have to go..."
Chuckling at the renewed struggles of the real Sylwen, the mimic quickly added "oh, we won't kill you. We have certain...contacts that are always on the lookout for beautiful ladies, if you catch my meaning."
Sylwen didn't, not really, but she understood enough to know that this was worse than bad.
"Let's tie them up properly, Maelis. We still have a ways to walk to the meeting point," grinned "Sylwen", "oh, and Sylwen? Thank you...for everything!"

----

For everything, indeed! The adventures of Sylwen and Maelis will continue! I have a total of five images planned for Kinktober that will follow their path into a radically different life...

just a small note to the organizers...these stories are just fluff, they aren't my actual contribution. so if this one is overly long...please feel free to ignore and just focus on the picture
