Hi everyone,
All the activity on retro costumes of late reminded me of an advert for Shield soap that aired when it was first launched in the UK (about 1976). It featured a WREN who stripped to take a shower. As I recall a foreign spy girl sneaks in to steal the - SOAP !!. It carried the slogan "The secret's in the marbling" implying that the spy trying to find out the secret of Shield soap. Does anyone else remember this particular advert ?
While looking for it on youtube I came across a couple of others. It seems that soap advertisers had an affinity for women in uniform at that time !. Here's links to a couple that I came across that feature air hostesses in contemporary uniforms.
