Hi everyone,
All the activity on retro costumes of late reminded me of an advert for Shield soap that aired when it was first launched in the UK (about 1976). It featured a WREN who stripped to take a shower. As I recall a foreign spy girl sneaks in to steal the - SOAP !!. It carried the slogan "The secret's in the marbling" implying that the spy trying to find out the secret of Shield soap. Does anyone else remember this particular advert ?
While looking for it on youtube I came across a couple of others. It seems that soap advertisers had an affinity for women in uniform at that time !. Here's links to a couple that I came across that feature air hostesses in contemporary uniforms.

this question made me thoughtful... in my humble opinion the best '70s scene and scenario about a girl stripping off her uniform is from Gerry Anderson' UFO tv series

...and this in the link is the winner

Yes indeed. I always loved Gabriella Drake in that series
Do you remember the girls in string vests aboard the submarine ?
I always though it was a bit racy for a kids show - it was obviously 'for dad's' !!!

Of Course - it was the Skydiver. I remember now !
She seems a very liberated lady - I think some of the others wore flesh coloured bras under the string top - all very attractive as I recall
I must say I did like the Shadow equivalent of the WRNS. !!!
No wonder Ed Straker always had a smile on his face when he visited !!!
